Essential Functions:


The Employee Experience Specialist advances Sony’s workplace culture by implementing programs that enhance wellbeing, recognition, learning, and engagement. Working closely with the Senior Employee Experience Specialist, this role co-leads engagement activities and drives HR employee communications. Additionally, this role partners with internal resources to embed the Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) strategy into all employee experience initiatives, to create a supportive and inclusive workplace.

Employee Experience:


  • Event Co-Leadership and Support: Partner with the Senior Employee Experience Specialist and other stakeholders to co-lead the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, including companywide celebrations, cultural events, volunteer opportunities, and employee-led initiatives. Support site ambassadors in organizing localized events that foster inclusivity and engagement while aligning with broader organizational objectives.
  • Wellbeing Program Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Specialist and HR leadership to develop and implement wellbeing initiatives that meet the diverse needs of employees, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Employee Recognition: Collaborate on the execution and enhancement of recognition programs, ensuring all employees feel valued and celebrated for their contributions.
  • Onboarding: Support onboarding initiatives by coordinating logistics, including new hire orientation activities, communication plans, and swag distribution, to create a seamless and engaging experience for new employees.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain swag inventory, ensuring alignment with the company’s branding and engagement strategies.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Partner with Talent Insights Taskforce to analyze feedback and metrics, contributing to program improvements that align with employee engagement goals.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Support the HR team goals by taking on various tasks and projects as they arise.

HR Employee Communications Leadership

  • Strategic HR Communications: Serve as the lead for all HR-related employee communications, ensuring timely, engaging, and consistent messaging. Develop, refine, and distribute content for various channels, including newsletters, HR owned intranet updates, and campaign materials.
  • Content Creation: Create compelling HR employee engagement communication content that aligns with organizational goals, integrates DEIB principles, and resonates with employees, to enhance understanding of key initiatives and foster an inclusive workplace.
  • HR Communications Process Management: Adhere to current employee communications processes while regularly reviewing and identifying opportunities to optimize workflows, remove bottlenecks, and improve efficiency.
  • Audience-Centric Messaging: Tailor communications to diverse employee audiences, ensuring clarity, inclusivity, and relevance for various regions, teams, and employee groups.
  • Multi-Channel Approach: Leverage a variety of communication platforms, including email, intranet, digital signage, virtual meetings, and social platform (LinkedIn), to reach employees effectively.
  • DEIB Messaging Integration: Partner with the DEIB group and Employee Networks (eNets) to incorporate inclusive language, cultural awareness, and DEIB monthly themes into all HR communications.
  • Measurement and Improvement: Implement tools and metrics (e.g., surveys, open rates, feedback loops) to measure the effectiveness of HR communications and identify areas for improvement.
  • Survey Program Support: Collaborate with the Employee Experience / Talent Strategy Sr. Manager and other stakeholders on the bi-annual Employee Engagement Survey, leading the development of communications and survey promotion.
  • Calendar and Resource Management: Oversee the Employee Engagement calendar on Outlook and Source ensuring visibility of Employee Engagement and Employee Network led initiatives and activities.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging


  • Program Support and Collaboration: Partner with the DEIB team to implement and support initiatives aligned with their DEIB strategy, ensuring integration with Employee engagement and communications efforts.
  • Inclusive Event Planning: Incorporate DEIB principles into event planning by promoting cultural awareness, accessibility, and inclusivity in all employee engagement activities.
  • Communications Alignment: Assist in crafting and distributing DEIB-related messaging, ensuring clear and consistent communication across the organization that highlights Sony’s commitment to DEIB.
  • Employee Network Collaboration: Work closely with Employee Networks to amplify their efforts and integrate their contributions into broader engagement strategies.


Administration:

  • Meeting/Event Logistics: Coordinate and plan meeting logistics; including solicitation for agenda topics, agenda creation, Outlook meeting invitations, reserving conference rooms/setting up virtual meetings (MS Teams), coordinating catering needs, printing and/or preparing meeting materials, conference room set up, capturing minutes, etc., as needed.
  • Shared Mailbox: Co-manage the internal employee engagement email box with daily login and ensuring timely responses and collaboration with team members to address inquiries.
  • Invoice and Budget Support: Assist with invoice processing, budget tracking, and expense reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely submission using Concur / SAP and other internally used systems.
  • External Awards: Oversee award application process for various external awards, including data collection, drafting application, communicating awards received through email/presentations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Collaborative Leadership: Ability to co-lead initiatives and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and leadership to achieve shared goals.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience creating impactful messaging.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, Smartsheet and Workshop with the ability to learn and leverage new tools as needed.
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: High degree of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
  • Adaptability and Agility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing long-term projects with urgent tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational background in Human Resources, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources and Employee Engagement.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Administration role is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.


The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $25.00 – $41.00/hour. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual hourly rate offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
