We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time or Part-Time Endoscopy Technician at North Shore Gastroenterology Associates of Great Neck, New York .

About the Role:

The Endoscopy Surgical Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare team, ensuring that endoscopic procedures are conducted safely and efficiently. This position involves preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting surgeons during procedures, and managing surgical instruments and equipment. The end result of this role is to enhance patient outcomes by providing high-quality support in the operating room. The Endoscopy Surgical Technician will also be responsible for adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures, contributing to a safe environment for both patients and staff. Ultimately, this position is vital in facilitating successful surgical interventions and improving the overall patient experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Experience in an operating room setting, particularly with endoscopic procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or equivalent.
• Additional certifications in specialized areas such as gastrointestinal endoscopy.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for endoscopic procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist surgeons and other medical staff during endoscopic procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining the sterile field.
• Monitor patient vitals and assist in positioning patients for optimal access during procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, including instruments used and any complications that arise.
• Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment post-procedure to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile techniques, which are essential for maintaining a safe operating environment. Attention to detail is crucial, as the Endoscopy Surgical Technician must ensure that all instruments are accounted for and properly sterilized. Communication skills are also vital, as the role involves constant interaction with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Preferred skills, such as proficiency in EMR systems, enhance the efficiency of record-keeping and patient management.
