The Senior Environmental Professional, working under limited supervision, is responsible for providing cost effective and moderately complex technical environmental services to the Business Unit by ensuring compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations. The role develops and implements robust processes to evaluate environmental compliance, performance, and identify continuous improvement opportunities, both within the organization and in contractor relationships. The role advocates for the organization’s environmental position by actively participating in trade associations, staying informed about industry activities that can enhance the organization’s environmental initiatives. The role maintains comprehensive regulatory oversight by staying abreast of evolving environmental regulations and standards at both federal and state/provincial levels, ensuring adherence to all applicable requirements.
- Develops and executes comprehensive processes to assess environmental compliance, performance, and continuous improvement opportunities, both internally and within contractor relationships.
- Represents the organization in trade associations to advocate for its environmental position and stays informed about industry activities that may benefit the organization’s EHS initiatives.
- Ensures comprehensive oversight of regulatory compliance by staying abreast of evolving environmental regulations and standards at both federal and state levels.
- Demonstrates and promotes the organization’s environmental attributes, fostering a safety culture and mindset among team members and throughout operations.
- Collaborates with federal and state agencies, including EPA, and others, to ensure environmental regulatory compliance, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns that may arise.
- Develops, gathers, maintains, and analyzes environmental data to drive proactive processes and compile accurate and timely routine environmental reports and regulatory documents, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
- Provides cost-effective environmental guidance to Operations team, ensuring properties operate at maximum economic efficiency while adhering to environmental regulatory requirements and organization’s environmental standards.
- Participates in Pre Project-Environmental Assessments, conducting comprehensive evaluations to identify potential environmental impacts and assists in implementing mitigation strategies.
- Works under limited supervision, leads concurrent projects, mentors less-experienced professionals, and initiates change, driving improvements within the environmental discipline.
- Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends solutions independently, collaborates across disciplines, and demonstrates advanced environmental project management skills, contributing to company performance and goals.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Environmental Science, Engineering or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in oil and gas operations. Relevant experience can include time operating oil and gas sites and is not limited to just environmental experience.
