Duties

This position supports and facilitates the execution of an environmental compliance management plan (CMP), promoting sustainment of environmental compliance and sustainability across and throughout the complex.


Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical assignments include:

  • Collaborating with EPS and supervisor to plan, program, schedule, and execute waste disposal services.
  • Providing various administrative and technical functions to ensure hazardous and universal wastes are being managed.
  • Assisting in conducting inspections, audits, and, site visits of installation facilities, operations, and activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ensures hazardous waste storage facilities/areas, satellite accumulations areas, and all other waste accumulation areas/locations are being managed in accordance with established procedures and general good housekeeping principles and practices are being followed.
  • Assisting with the development of any required environmental operating permits and management plans.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the GS-07 Grade Level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience that has equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of specialized experience include: evaluating environmental programs for compliance with federal and state requirements; providing assistance regarding the management and disposal of hazardous wastes; assisting in the planning and review portions of engineering projects to evaluate potential environmental problems; supporting the environmental unit regarding compliance and stewardship across various environmental programs, assisting with oversight, management, and control of a variety of waste streams.



National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
