The Executive Sous Chef plays a vital role by collaborating directly with the Executive Chef to maintain and enhance culinary operations. This position requires overseeing daily functions in the culinary department and providing support and guidance to the team to ensure a positive guest experience.



Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior leadership and take on essential management tasks.


• Serve as a liaison between all culinary and hotel departments.

• Supervise Sous Chefs’ performance and offer food preparation and cooking guidance.


• Create and implement innovative menu items that align with Hyatt’s brand standards.

• Plan and manage special events and holiday functions.


• Oversee kitchen staff by handling scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluations, and hiring.

• Lead the team to achieve exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.


• Monitor food production, ordering, costs, and quality to ensure financial performance and control.

• Ensure the safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.


• Organize departmental meetings, training sessions, and goal-setting activities.


Qualifications


Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge and skills in all kitchen operations.


• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in training, financial management, and customer service.


• Proficient in basic computer skills.

• A genuine desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service setting.


• Ability to deliver consistent results in a timely manner.

• Culinary education or relevant on-the-job training and hotel culinary experience.


• Preference for candidates with geographic and schedule flexibility.

At Hyatt, we develop Executive Sous Chefs to advance to the Executive Chef position through training in Banquets, Restaurants, and Garde Manger. Executive Sous Chefs report directly to the Director of Culinary Operations/Executive Chef.
