Position Summary:

Under general supervision of General Manager, the Facilities Manager ensures that physical aspects of the warehouse building meet the company’s established standards and complies with occupational safety and health regulations.


Responsibilities/Duties:

  • This is a hands on position with physical and administrative responsibilitites.
  • Responsible for coverage Memphis facility
  • Determines job priorities based on established schedules and make daily assignments utilizing the Facilities Request System
  • Performs, plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including return on investments, estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other job-related costs.
  • Works with internal Managers to coordinate building space allocation, layouts and general facilities support. Maintains Facilities Staff (technicians, janitorial, etc.) results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Schedules, assigns, and performs building maintenance tasks.
  • Oversees vendor relationships, evaluates performance and cost and negotiates contracts.
  • Work with Security Coordinator to evaluate security systems, policies and procedures and ensures employee and asset protection.
  • Participates in the diagnosis of problems and repairs to include electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC and other.
  • Identifies management and employee concerns by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions, recommending building maintenance programs.
  • Oversees Safety Program and protects employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean building.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Oversees building maintenance supplies inventory by researching supply quantities; designing inventory systems; determining inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; approving orders.
  • Develops after hours and weekend on-call emergency facility coverage and scheduling.
  • Maintain and record logs for preventive maintenance task.
  • Manage queue for service calls.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university preferred; and minimum five years related experience and/or training.
  • Technical level expertise in principles of facilities management and health, safety and environmental codes, procedures, practices, and requirements.
  • In depth knowledge of building infrastructure systems, (lighting, power, HVAC, Fire Alarm system, sprinkler system, mechanical room, etc) and be familiar with the various trades that service these systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices and procedures as well as project management/analysis experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated Managerial/leadership skills
  • Proficiency with PC office/business communications and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, TEAMS, email, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership, team building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be willing to occasionally work weekends and/or provide additional site coverage as required to cover for scheduled maintenance activities.
