THE WORK
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Systems Administrator to support Modeling, Simulation, and Training at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N) at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The selected candidate will center on providing system support to ensure optimal performance within the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at JITTC-N.



The Systems Administrator will maintain continuous operation of multi-user computer systems to ensure effective support of missions and the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) is operating at optimal performance levels.

Primary Duties Include:
• Setting up and managing administrator and user service accounts.
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting system-wide software and hardware, including allocating mass storage space and coordinating upgrades.
• Performing system capacity analysis and planning, optimizing system operation and resource utilization, and developing policies and standards for allocations related to computing resources.
• Providing user support and assistance, interacting with users, and evaluating vendor products to inform purchasing decisions.
• Developing, implementing, and enforcing information security best practices and procedures, including securely storing, backing up, and archiving data, and maintaining vigilance to protect sensitive systems and data across classified enclaves.
• Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, performance, and other relevant system processes.

Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance with final clearance adjudication within the last five years.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, OR equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with Linux system administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software contexts, including integration with diverse display solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of network administration principles as they apply to simulator systems.
• Awareness of, and adherence to information security best practices.
• Proficiency in performing configuration management and collaborating with other configuration managers.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing complex systems in a high-stakes environment.
• Ability to write processes for simulator technicians and engineers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills, to produce and maintain technical documents and procedures.
• Ability to create and maintain data logging procedures and reports to identify issues, submit deficiency reports (DRs) to relevant subject matter experts (SMEs), and help find and resolve required solutions and future requirements.
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently or as part of a larger professional team.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other relevant software.
Desired Skills:
• Active or current DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
• Certifications: Linux+, CompTIA+, and Security+.
• Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), preferably as a Systems Administrator.
• Previous experience with operating and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience in software design, testing, and implementation within DoD flight simulators.
• Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and current systems.
• Experience with Agile software development practices.
• Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics may qualify with at least one year of C++ and/or Python programming experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
