The F&B Manager oversees shift operations for the Front of House team. This position reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets.
- Ensure consistent quality in food, beverage, and service standards to exceed guest expectations.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and operational procedures.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the food and beverage department budget, including cost control measures.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, ensuring profitability and revenue growth.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to achieve the best quality and pricing.
- Plan and execute promotional events to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and mentor food and beverage staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
- Schedule and manage staff to ensure optimal coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
- Guest Experience
- Collaborate with chefs and culinary teams to curate innovative menus and beverage selections.
- Respond to guest feedback, resolving complaints and enhancing satisfaction.
- Monitor and evaluate guest satisfaction scores, implementing improvements as needed.
- Strategic Planning
- Stay updated on industry trends, introducing new offerings and service enhancements.
- Partner with other departments to align food and beverage initiatives with overall hotel goals.
- Implement sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction and locally sourced ingredients.
The Hourly Range for this position is $66,000 – $86,000 per year. This is the pay range for this position at Alila Ventana Big Sur reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a food and beverage leadership position, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene and sanitation regulations.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Basic computer skills for managing inventory and reporting.
- Certification in food safety or sanitation (preferred).
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in food and beverage management software and tools.
- Certification in food safety and alcohol service (Food Handler’s & Responsible Beverage Service)
Work Environment
- Physical work requiring standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
- Exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.
- Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
