We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Restaurant General Manager to lead our team and uphold our commitment to exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the steps of service, strong guest interaction skills, and solid knowledge of beverage service, while also handling operational duties such as payroll and data entry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring staff consistently follows the steps of service, from the initial greeting to final farewells.
• Coach and train the team to master the critical elements of service, including:
1. Welcoming guests promptly and professionally.
2. Presenting menus and answering questions knowledgeably.
3. Taking accurate orders and making thoughtful recommendations.
4. Timing food and beverage delivery to enhance guest satisfaction.
5. Checking in to ensure the guest’s needs are met throughout the meal.
6. Presenting the bill and handling payments efficiently.
7. Saying goodbye, ensuring guests leave with a positive lasting impression.
• Maintain an emphasis on guest interaction, ensuring all team members are attentive, engaging, and responsive to guest needs.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and a commitment to creating a positive experience and outcome.
• Oversee payroll management, ensuring accurate timekeeping, wages, and benefits are processed efficiently.
• Conduct regular data entry tasks, including maintaining inventory records, tracking sales, and updating staff schedules.
Requirements:
• Deep understanding of the steps of service, ensuring staff are trained to deliver seamless hospitality from start to finish.
• Excellent guest interaction skills, with the ability to build rapport and create lasting, positive connections with guests.
• Basic beverage knowledge:
• Wine: Ability to suggest pairings and understand varietals.
• Beer: Familiarity with popular beer styles and how they complement the menu.
• Cocktails: Understanding of classic cocktails and the ability to recommend or create recipes.
• Experience with payroll processing and data entry, ensuring accurate financial and operational records.
• Proven experience in staff management, training, and operational oversight in a fine dining environment.
Michelin experience is prefered, but not required.
