Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse Coordinator within Guest Health Services, you will deliver the highest quality of professional nursing care and guest experience to our Guests and Cast Members while being a positive role model and team leader to the Guest Health Services team. Guest Health Services is a fast-paced environment with a highly collegial team that depends on close cooperation, intra-team consistency, and frequent communications. As Guest Health Services is a 7 days a week operation, full availability for scheduling Sunday through Saturday is needed as well as availability to work holidays. Shift times vary and will be predominantly be until our parks close and/or special events end. Consistent split days off are offered following the initial training period. Occasional overtime or alternate shift work may be required.

This position will report to the Guest Health Services Manager and is a peer to fellow Guest Registered Nurse Coordinators.


Responsibilities/You Will

Nursing and Guest Service:


  • Deliver and ensure the highest quality and compassionate care is being provided to our Guests by serving as a role model to the team and working with Operations partners and emergency services teams.
  • Follow established practices for care outlined under Florida RN licensure standards and DPEP Policies and standing orders.
  • Identify and address performance gaps by conducting coaching sessions for healthcare staff.
  • Recap coaching conversations through detailed email communication.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and address performance issues.


Operations:

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations related to park operations. (i.e., Safety, Park Duty, Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, Advent Health)
  • Coordinate with various departments, including maintenance, events, security, and safety to ensure effective communication and integration of partnering activities and park needs.
  • Collaborate with potential partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships that align with the park’s mission and goals.
  • Provide timely communication and updates about the location and park operations to the team.
  • Assess labor deployment and work with Guest Health Services Manager to ensure all locations and respective responsibilities are covered adequately including rotation of responsibilities.
  • Ensure Cast Members are on time and ready to work at locations and ensure opportunities for lunches/breaks are happening in a timely manner and consistent timeframe.
  • Scheduling and Callout Management, efficiently manage schedules for optimal coverage.
  • Address staffing needs proactively.
  • Order and receive supplies on a weekly basis, ensuring par levels are established/re-established to seasonality. Streamline supply chain processes, delivery to various locations.
  • Track maintenance, IT, phone requests and follows-up.
  • Compose weekly location status reports (i.e., POD)
  • Coordinate with on-call leadership any updates, issues, or needs (hand-off).

Chart Review and Analysis:


  • Conduct thorough reviews of charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Analyze records for compliance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Identify and address discrepancies or deficiencies in documentation through constructive feedback and education.
  • Provide training and education to staff on proper documentation practices, compliance requirements, and charting standards.
  • Develop and deliver educational materials to support continuous improvement in charting accuracy.
  • Generate reports on chart audit findings, summarizing trends, areas of improvement, and compliance status.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies for addressing recurring issues.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of processes related to chart auditing and documentation.

Clinical Training:

  • Develop and implement clinical training programs to enhance skills, including hands-on training, simulations, and shadowing experiences.
  • Responsible for annual skills assessment, training, feedback and evaluations.
  • Ensure that training programs align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Onboarding Program:


  • Create a comprehensive onboarding program that introduces new staff to the organization’s mission, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate orientations and introductory sessions to familiarize new hires with the organizational structure and culture.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to new hires throughout their onboarding process.
  • Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve the onboarding and training processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership, human resources, and other relevant departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Stay informed about advancements in nursing education and training methodologies.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • To do their jobs well, nurses need to have physical strength and stamina, and the ability to move around freely, and see, hear and communicate well with Guests and Cast.
  • Working conditions require standing for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, stretching, or twisting of the body.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. A nurse needs physical strength and the ability to kneel/squat to complete emergency procedures such as CPR.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have


  • Current and clear Florida Registered Nursing license
  • 3+ years of nursing experience
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Demonstrated high-quality clinical skills and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated exceptional guest service-oriented skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills,
  • Basic ability to work within a Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Independent and self-motivated to work in a team environment
  • Full availability to work at any park with work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Demonstrate integrity, insist on fairness, and take responsibility for decisions and actions
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task in an organized manner with solution-oriented work habits in a fast-paced environment
  • Established great working relationships and be a team player to work within the Health Services team

Preferred Qualifications/It would be great if you had

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous Guest Health Services experience

Required Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

  • Proficiency in languages in addition to English
  • or related field
  • Current and clear Florida Registered Nursing license
  • BLS Certified
  • Valid Florida driver’s license

Preferred Education

Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent
