WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR


This position is part of the North America Express Lane Apparel Creation Team, which services North America consumers by leveraging the best Nike silhouettes and creating storytelling through graphics, print, and color. As a key member of the team, you will be a highly creative problem solver striving to develop premium apparel with operational excellence in a speed business model. The Lead Developer will own the style development from initial concept to commercialization and production, ensuring on-time delivery, leading the process through critical dates, and focusing on product, sustainability, and profitability goals. The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development environment. We are looking for self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, great teammates, and strong leaders who can build relationships and interact with teams across Nike Apparel Product Creation and diverse geographies.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON


As our Lead Developer, you will work on existing Jordan Apparel models across Men’s and Women’s. You will use your technical knowledge related to graphic applications to provide leadership for complex apparel development projects. You will translate design concepts into 3D products, communicate them to factory partners, collaborate with design and project teams, and work with overseas vendors on production and manufacturability to create highly coveted Jordan Apparel. You will drive strategy and standards, lead proto reviews, and provide graphic execution recommendations. You’ll create BOMs for assigned styles, maintain development documentation, track and facilitate prototyping, and address key issues and challenges in graphic execution. You will monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process. You will manage the silhouette redevelopment process, including PCX creation, pattern conversions, and fit approvals.

Additionally, you will act as a technical resource and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence.


WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Material, Sourcing, and PCC teams to develop seasonal products to commercialization. You will partner with various functions within Nike to bring design concepts to life, working with triad partners at Nike WHQ, New York City, and Los Angeles, as well as PCC/Sourcing and Manufacturing partners around the world.



WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in apparel design, product development, textiles, graphic design, merchandising or a related field or combination of relevant education, experience, and training .

  • 5 years’ experience in product creation, preferably in graphics/embellishments

  • Proficient in PCX, PPS, Adobe Illustrator, Optitex .

  • Knowledge of CLO, and/or Lotta, Browzwear is a plus

  • Strong understanding of apparel drawings, construction, materials, costing, and quality.

  • Strong development and organization skills, written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, and results orientation.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, strong analytical, decision-making, and influencing skills.

  • Experience acting as a technical resource and mentor to others while leading initiatives and project teams is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
