The Ice Haus Lead Rental Technician will ensure Taos Ski Valley Inc.’s newest attraction is professionally operated, perfectly organized and fun for all. With an automated skate tuning machine in-house Rental Technicians will have the best tools to maintain the rental skate inventory. Operated by Resort Services, the Ice Haus Lead Rental Technician will train and work with staff from all Resort Services operations including Taos Sports, Kachina Sports, Confluence, Lost & Found and Seasonal Lockers. Qualified candidates may be provided advanced training for Ice Rink maintenance.

A Taos Ski Valley veteran of 2 seasons or more, the Rental Lead will assist with training of and guidance for new staff. Leading by example the Rental Lead will greet guests, maintain a welcoming environment, promote Taos Ski Valley, Inc. and answer guest questions. Well versed in Taos Sports rental and retail inventory, you will be able to direct guests to items that meet their needs. We strive for every guest interaction to have a personal touch and to make the guest feel more welcome. The Rental Lead is a dynamic, outgoing person that can spread the stoke of Taos Ski Valley, Inc through every guest interaction.



Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Follows established procedures and instructions for the operation of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates awareness of the Rental/Repair Shop’s safety and security practices as they affect him/herself, fellow employees as well as guests.
  • Assist and greet guests in the storage and retrieval of snow sports equipment.
  • Assist guests in taking ski and snowboard boots on and off.
  • Possesses good people skills sufficient to assist guests in a helpful, friendly, and courteous manner; is tolerant of the diversity of personalities experienced with co-workers and guests; makes the rental experience for TSV guests a positive one.
  • Has high personal job motivation from the beginning of the season that carries through to the end.
  • Establishes and maintains productive work relationships with co-workers, other TSV staff, Supervisors, and Management.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older and must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.
  • Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handler Certification upon hire.

  • 2 Seasons experience Taos Ski Valley, Inc. Rentals or related required.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates experience in appropriately handling complaints and resolving grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to arrive at work at the scheduled time and stay until the scheduled end time.
  • Ability to review financial information for accuracy and identify problem areas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:


Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:


Frequently lifting to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds. Standing, walking, talking, and hearing 100% of the time. Sitting, reaching, bending, climbing 30-50% of the time. Outdoors 50% of the time.

Background Check:


Positions dealing with children, of a safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving, or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
