Responsibilities*

Candidates will be primarily be expected to teach undergraduate Business Communication courses in the standardized BBA Core Curriculum, with coordinated materials and assignments. Responsibilities may include teaching graduate level Business Communication courses and advising action-based learning graduate business student teams working on company-sponsored project on best practices in spoken and written communication deliverables. Ross students are high achievers: faculty are expected to be responsive and engaged mentors who give meaningful individualized feedback and grade to a standard distribution based on Ross Communication Competencies. Training will include assessing student writing and speaking samples based on these competencies.



Required Qualifications*

Qualified candidates should have experience teaching university-level communication courses with demonstrated strong teaching skills as evidenced by prior classroom performance. Preference will be given to those experienced in teaching business or professional communication, rhetoric or composition, or a closely related field. Qualified candidates should also have experience working in some facet of public or corporate/internal communication, with preference given to applicants who can show how this work fostered a positive difference in their company, industry, or community.



Preferred candidates will also have experience advising teams working on projects to improve their spoken and written communication, with documented success. Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to connect with students and give them concrete, actionable feedback in categories that align with Ross Communication Competencies. A Master Degree in business, a communication field, English, education, or related area is
required with demonstrated academic excellence: a PhD is preferred.
