Our client, a leading creative production company based in Los Angeles, is seeking a Locations Director to join their talented team.

Known for delivering exceptional projects in the industry, they are looking for a driven leader who can take ownership of their locations department, ensure top-quality equipment management, and foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and studios.

Position Overview

As the Locations Director, you will:


• Manage and lead a team of five (2 freelancers and 3 full-time staff) in the locations department.

• Oversee the organization, maintenance, and functionality of all equipment, ensuring it is in excellent condition.


• Serve as the primary client-facing representative of the locations team, ensuring outstanding service and professionalism.

• Handle the logistics of renting, tracking, and ensuring the return of all equipment in pristine condition.


• Develop and nurture strong relationships with vendors and studios in the creative production industry.

• Lead the team in creating a positive, collaborative, and highly efficient work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:


• Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team, fostering collaboration and high performance.

• Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability across the team.


• Equipment Management:

• Organize, maintain, and oversee all equipment, especially lighting gear.


• Develop and manage systems to track equipment usage, rentals, and return conditions.

• Client Engagement:


• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism.

• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to maintain high service standards.


• Vendor & Studio Relationships:

• Leverage established relationships within the industry to support operational success.


• Negotiate and manage partnerships with vendors and studios for rentals and services.

• Operational Excellence:


• Streamline equipment logistics and processes to improve efficiency.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and maintain budget oversight.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the creative production industry.

• Deep knowledge of lighting and other production equipment.


• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, 5 days per week.
