The BNSF Railway Government Affairs Department is a critical component of our company. This is a full-time position located in Washington, D.C. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.
Travel is minimal, less than 10%.
This position is responsible for overseeing and administering BNSF’s political action committee, RailPAC, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the BNSF Railway Government Affairs office in Washington.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Plan and execute ongoing Political Action Committee (PAC) engagement and membership retention strategy with BNSF employees, communicating effectively to align and inform on policy matters that affect the railroad.
- Responsible for developing creative content for all PAC and grassroots communications, including educational and solicitation materials, annual reports, newsletters, and the PAC website.
- Manage the federal and state PAC budgets and oversee PAC disbursements and the PAC Match program.
- Ensure compliance with PAC expenditure limits and accurate and timely campaign finance disclosure reports with federal and state agencies.
- Support and manage office administrative functions.
Daily work is conducted in a safe indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- At least 1 year of experience in PAC management, political fundraising, campaign management, government relations and communications, or event planning.
- Familiarity with PACs and political fundraising.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and office management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of experience in PAC management, political fundraising, campaign management, government relations and communications, or event planning.
- Experience and working knowledge of federal and state PAC compliance requirements.
