The Massage Therapist provides massage therapy services under the direction of the clinical supervisor or clinical director according to the individualized plan of care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Provides direct massage therapy according to directions of clinical supervisor/ clinical director and in accordance with the plan of care.
Assesses referral/patient for appropriate medical indication for services and performs assessment to determine effectiveness of therapy. Treats patient to relieve symptoms and provide relaxation and comfort.
Directs and aids patients through massage therapy interventions to assist with alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, muscle Tension, circulation, stiffness, contractures, limited mobility, relaxation, and comfort. Utilize interventions such as but not limited to: Swedish Massage, Comfort Touch, Energy work, and compressions.
Bring awareness to RN/clinical team of appropriateness and/or contraindications for treatment. Observes and reports to the clinical supervisor or clinical director and the organization personnel the patients response to treatment and any changes in patients condition.
Provides education and awareness to clinical team regarding appropriateness or contraindications for therapy treatment. Maintains necessary records; clinical notes, problem charting, coordination notes, which will be incorporated into the patients clinical record within 24-48 hours of session and modified as needed.
Participates in interdisciplinary group and organization in-service education program as needed. Participates in the quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned. Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program with minimum of 600 hours of training in Massage Therapy. (Certified Massage Therapist) Meets personnel qualifications stated in 418.114(b)(8).
Preferred completion of National Certification Exam (NCTMB) Current licenses or certifications as required by state law. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order. The hourly base range for this role is $21.50-29.50/hr.
This range is a good faith estimate; we may pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs.
