BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time MT/MLS II (Reg) – Evenings for our Missouri Baptist Medical Center

Position Details:
- Afternoon / Evening Shift – 12:30pm -10:30PM (4 – 10 hour shifts) – with Weekend/ Holiday Rotation
- Full-Time – 40 Hours per Week
- Works with other departments in processing of specimens
- Opportunities for continuing education for certification maintenance
- Day to day activities include reading culture plates, running quality control, taking phone calls, running molecular testing, processing specimens, setting up susceptibility and ID testing
Experience:
- Previous work in a clinical / hospital laboratory (preferred)
- Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
- At least 2 years of experience
- ASCP, AMT,AAB or equivalent

Role Purpose
The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice
