On-Call News Producer – CBN News (D.C.)

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking an On Call News Producer for the News Bureau in Washington, D.C.  This professional will produce news segments and programs across multiple platforms including television and digital delivery, out of the CBN News Washington, DC Bureau. This includes research, preparing copy, questions and producing pieces. Pitch story ideas, interviews and potential appearances on CBN News programs and for special projects and web content as assigned.

Salary range: $30-$50/hour. This approximate salary range will be based on the knowledge, skills and experience assessed during the interview. 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:                         

• Previous experience working in a local or national newsroom
• Excellent, network-level writing and producing skills for broadcast, web and social media along with strong understanding and ability to visually tell a story
• Strong logistical and editorial skills with knowledge of national and international politics
• Extensive knowledge of all branches of the U.S. Government and its agencies
• Proficient in MS Office, digital media, and video editing software (Adobe Premiere)
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze complex subject matter
• Self-motivated with ability to find experts, interesting characters for news stories and segments, with little supervision
• Strong organizational skills with ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure
• Ability to travel as assigned
