This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 12 pounds.

Primarily days including some weekends and holidays. Hours and shift will be discussed during interview process.

The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for providing point of service activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment registration; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; maintain HIPPA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient registration and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.

Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience with appointment registration highly preferred.
