Responsibilities

The Department of Pharmacy at Mayo Clinic is recruiting a Pharmacist Scientist to join our team. The Mayo Clinic Department of Pharmacy has a dedicated ambition for creating a patient-centered, integrated care model to advance the Mayo Clinic’s Bold.Forward. strategy with focus on People & Culture, Practice Innovation, Care Team Evolution, Discoveries & Cures. In stride with these goals, in 2023 alone, our department reached over 200 scientific publication outputs in peer-reviewed journals, and over 80 active quality improvement projects with the Mayo Clinic Quality Academy. Members of the department have successfully competed for intramural grants and extramural grants from foundation, industry, and governmental sources. Nearly 250 pharmacy staff hold academic rank in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, with several dually appointed in other fields, and are being increasingly recognized on regional, national, and international stages. Our department’s pharmacy residency has been accredited by ASHP since 1973. It has grown to become the primary training site for 21 pharmacy residents including 15 various specialty residencies.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and Ph.D. is required. Demonstrates research excellence and expertise through grant funding and/or published peer-reviewed research. Must hold academic rank in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine at the time of accepting the Research Scientist position or obtain it within 3 months. Evidence of active high-quality extramurally funded research for salary support of 25% with expectations of 40% within 3-5 years of hire.

Compensation Detail

The minimum starting salary for research specialties may range from $109,500 to $266,500. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
