Job Summary

The post doctoral research fellow will conduct research and write papers on language acquisition and psycholinguistics, particularly relating to the interplay between event representations and sentence structure and interpretation.



Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsibilities consist of carrying out, analyzing, writing up, and presenting research on language processing and acquisition. The postdoc may work with other members of the team, including undergraduates, data analysts, and graduate students as needed to complete the assigned work. The principal objective is to publish journal articles on language processing and acquisition, particularly research concerned with the role of event representations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Prior publications on verb-learning, pronoun interpretation, or event representations (preferably all three)
  • Ability to conduct modern statistical analyses using R or Python
