Production Assistant-Temp

TelevisaUnivision News is looking for a Production Assistant based in Miami for the Sunday politics and public affairs program “Al Punto con Jorge Ramos”. The ideal candidate will have effective organizational, clerical and communication skills in order to work in the fast-paced environment of a newsroom. The candidate must have an interest in local, national, and international news, politics and current affairs. The candidate will be expected to have excellent Spanish grammar.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

• Assist with many aspects of daily production of a weekly political show
• Graphics & video production, script printing
• Prepare logistics for trips and guests
• Work on clerical work including FCC Reports, music cue sheets, metadata logs
• Monitor latest news and social media to pitch relevant stories
• Translate aptly from English to Spanish
• Additional production assistance including special coverage and breaking news
• Other duties as assigned

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform well under pressure, manage breaking news situations, meet strict deadlines, and respond quickly to changes
• Fluent in English & Spanish (read and write)
• Computer skills: Word, Excel
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Strong organizational skills Good interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to work from Miami, FL
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basi
