About the Role & Team:

You will have a complete understanding of the creative team’s artistic intent and be skilled in the practical implementation required to realize and maintain that vision. We would look to you as the Production Stage Manager to facilitate a flawless, integrated transition from the production team to the operating team, including rehearsal planning, crafting field schedules, and execution of bringing the elements of a show together.
The Production Stage Manager will report to the Producer.
This is an Internal Assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do:
- Lead many aspects of the delivery of a production or event, from planning and scheduling rehearsals, to performing the role of Production Stage Manager during the rehearsal and production process.
- Provide leadership oversight to Cast and Crew for production deliverables in coordination with vendors, Production Team, clients, Marketing, and shipboard entertainment operations teams.
- Supervise and support Entertainment Cast and Crew on their assigned projects/events, including but not limited to Performers, Technicians, Costuming, Cosmetology, Stage Managers and entertainment staff.
- Serve as the point of contact during all rehearsals, installations, performances, and strikes to key partners and clients.
- Identify, track, update, and revise production deliverables throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with various types of talent and all levels of Leadership for offerings/events occurring both on and off Disney Cruise Line ships, including the Toronto Artistic Operations team.
- Build and manage a detailed production schedule, run rehearsals efficiently, prepare timely books, and “call” sophisticated show cues including automated scenery, performer stunts & flying, and pyrotechnics.
- Deliver creative team’s show notes to the larger production team, as well as build comprehensive show documentation including a script breakdown for all show production elements and approved contingencies.
- Collaborate with Production team members continually, including Production Assistants, Production Managers, Production Supervisors and Producers, along with technical design and delivery team members, and shipboard partners.
- Partner with Production Supervisor and/or shipboard leadership, agree to and communicate Cast in/out times to ensure timelines and schedules are adhered to by all, aligning consistent application of work rules associated with Disney Cruise Line Crew (MLC)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Stage Manager and/or Entertainment Event Management
- Knowledge and understanding of large-scale show production and/or branded event offerings with ability to create and read stage plots, complex cue scripts, and blocking for prompt scripts
- Capable of adapting to rapid show-flow changes in a live and fluid environment
- Expertise in managing rehearsal processes and experience with large groups
- Outstanding leadership, problem-solving, influencing, and negotiating skills
- Ability to give effective feedback and share creative and new ideas
- Knowledge of lighting, audio, SFX, scenic, costuming, rigging and staging
- interpersonal relationship skills with talent, vendors, clients, production teams, technicians, and executives
- Willingness to travel extensively on various domestic and international assignments as needed for Disney Cruise Line and related projects
- Valid US Passport is required
- Available and willing to work weekends, holidays and third shift, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in theatrical, cruise ship or theme park live entertainment show production
- Knowledge of Disney Cruise Line shipboard operations, policies and procedures including MLC, SMS and LOG guidance
- Musical script reading ability
- Knowledge of licensing, copyrights, local government regulations
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, Anaheim and Burbank CA is $70,930 to $95,150 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
