Boeing’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is seeking a Proof-Load Test Technician to join our team in Renton, Washington.
You will be performing certified acceptance testing of handling equipment/structures (e.g., cranes, hoists, scissor lifts, boom lifts) and below the hook equipment (e.g., belts, cables, chains, slings). This statement of work includes load testing activities in support of Boeing Commercial aircraft on the ground (AOGs), as well as Boeing Defense aircraft, as required.
This position involves accepting or rejecting equipment and making recommendations to repair or replace equipment to ensure equipment meets manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with tooling, production and facilities engineering to assist in the design of complex Design Fixture Tools (DFT’s), drawing reviews and load test procedures to ensure a safe tool and work environment.
This position is for 1st shift and may require critical support as needed. This role allows for a 4/10 schedule.
Position Responsibilities:
- Delivers training to internal users on the use, repair and maintenance of more complex below the hook equipment (e.g., vacuum lifts and magnet lifts) and the operation of test equipment (e.g., scales, weights and calipers)
- Uses operational manuals to ensure proper use of equipment and provide a safe working environment
- Reviews internal customer below-the-hook equipment requirements, evaluates vendor product capabilities and specifications, and recommends the appropriate equipment purchase
- Verifies the structural integrity of purchased, fabricated and repaired handling equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance
- Provides guidance on proof load integrity testing to less experienced Proof-Load Technicians
- Performs routine and complex scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) procedures on handling equipment, using weights, scales and rigging, based on established procedures
- Increases safety and reliability for the life of the asset, reduces downtime and cost
- Makes recommendations for PM process and procedural improvements to internal organizations
- Performs operational inspection prior to and after Proof-Load integrity test, by assessing existing handling equipment condition
- Reviews documentation of proof-load tests and results, inspections and maintenance activities
- Checks for completeness, accuracy and alignment with schedule, prior to input into database, based on established procedures
- Works in various software systems (e.g., REDARS, MES, CMES, Maximo/Corrigo) to review and verify tests, work orders, etc.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience interpreting manufacturing blueprints
- 1+ years of mechanical experience as a machinist, mechanic or other mechanical aptitudes
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Associate’s degree or above
- Experience with MS Office and Maximo/Corrigo
- 3+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical testing in the aerospace industry to include proof test, leak test, avionics test and/or functional test
- 3+ years of experience with load control systems in a test environment
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with overhead cranes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $57,800 – $78,200
