Layne , a leading provider of water resources (drilling water wells, performing well services, and performing pump installations) and mineral drilling services, is seeking Manual Machinists to join their team in Prairieville, LA.

If you have 3+ years of manual machining experience, including manual lathe , this is an opportunity you need to explore! Experience with pumps not required, but a major plus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Machines parts for pump settings.

• Disassembles and inspects pumps and reassembles vertical turbine pumps.

• Builds and fabricates parts for rig repairs.

• Assists in maintaining shop inventory.

• Maintains/directs overall housekeeping activities in the shop.

• Reads and interprets blueprints, using gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.

• Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.

• Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics and composites.

• Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
