Job Summary
Under the direction of principal investigators, assists in the designing, planning, and execution of analyses of therapeutic outcomes and adverse effects of drugs and other medical interventions, as well as simulation studies evaluating epidemiologic methods and validation studies in claims data; applying skills in biostatistics, epidemiologic methods, and health services research. Serves as an integral part of the research team, helps to analyze and interpret data findings, prepare summaries, reports and presentations based on analysis and results. Contributes to the scientific literature through oral and poster presentations and published manuscripts.
Specific duties may include:
1. Support faculty and other research staff with the creation of analytic data files and the conduct of statistical analyses.
2. Responsible for loading, validating, documenting, managing, and analyzing data for both internal and collaborative research projects.
3. Responsible for assisting with data storage and management issues around both new and ongoing projects within the Division.
4. Responsible for working with other research staff within the Division to help specify appropriate analytical data files for the research question under investigation.
5. Responsible for creating and carefully documenting all derived analytical data files so that they can be understood and used by other members of the research team.
6. Contributes to interpretation of research data and results.
7. Contributes to scientific literature, journals, and oral presentations.
8. Participate in study design and protocol development.
9. Compose and present sections of research reports and manuscripts.
10. Perform advanced data analysis, working closely with the Principal Investigator and other researchers.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree Analysis required or Bachelor’s Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Experience working with data, preferably healthcare data 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– Healthcare knowledge, particularly as it pertains to electronic medical record data, is preferred but not required.
– Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau.
– Knowledge and application of statistical analyses, including variance analysis and statistical significance, are preferred.
– Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
