Duties
  • Oversee budgets and annual programs of work to achieve planned goals and objectives
  • Strategize, develop, and review proposals for new or existing projects and plans.
  • Analyze and determine the effects between recreation and resource management activities
  • Engage and collaboratively work with partners to deliver recreation and specially designated areas programs
  • Analyze and interpret data to formulate recommendations to achieve management objectives and policies.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of recreation, special uses and specially designated areas programs to ensure changes are made as conditions arise.
  • Maintain relationships with professional organizations and other stakeholders to advance program goals and objectives.
  • Engage partners, volunteers, and the public to collaboratively manage congressionally designated areas and recreation programs in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Establish and communicate guidelines and performance requirements to employees including conducting formal performance reviews and identifying developmental and training needs of employees
  • Promote and support a positive work environment to create a climate of mutual respect and integrity.
  • Reinforce to others that offensive, harassing, and intimidating behavior will not be tolerated

Specialized Experience Requirement:



For the GS-11 grade level: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting one or more of the following: Engage partners, volunteers, and the public to collaboratively manage congressionally designated areas and recreation programs in accordance with applicable laws and policies; or Evaluate effectiveness of recreation, special uses and specially designated areas programs to ensure changes are made as conditions arise; or analyze and determine the effects between recreation and resource management activities.
OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
An appropriate combination of specialized experience and graduate level education (beyond what is required for a master’s degree, i.e., more than 36 semester hours leading to a Ph.D.).
