Position Summary

This is a 12-month post-graduate year one (PGY-1) pharmacy residency program, structured to provide training and learning experience in pharmacy practice and education. This position is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The Pharmacist Resident will perform daily patient care activities in the medication management process as a registered pharmacist defined by the Arizona Board of Pharmacy Statutes. This position reports directly to the Residency Program Coordinator and receives direct supervision from the Director, Clinical Pharmacy, Education and Research. The Resident also receives oversight and supervision from the Director, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations.



Education
  • Graduated from an accredited College or School of Pharmacy. (Required)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD). (Required)

Experience
  • Knowledge of drug products, medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states. (Required)
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities and duties of a pharmacy intern initially until licensure as a Pharmacist by the State of Arizona. (Required)

Certifications
  • Licensure as a Pharmacist either by reciprocity or examination in the State of Arizona by November 1st of each residency year. (Required)
  • BLS and PALS or ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Preferred)

Special Skills
  • Experience with various types of computer software, including MS Office Suite. (Required)
