Schedule:  Days 12 hour Shift – to cover PTO and could be required to do stay after call when working from 7p-11p

The role you’ll contribute:

A Registered Nurse who is responsible for appropriate and safe care of patients in the Cath/IR Recovery Area Must work independently as well as within the team.


  • Provides care for outpatients receiving blood transfusions, antibiotic infusions, and other types of infusions as needed. Provides patient education on transfusion/infusion and monitors patients throughout transfusion/infusion.
  • Provides care to patients who have undergone cardiac catheterization during the recovery phase by removing arterial/venous sheaths when necessary, performs on-going physical assessment of arterial/venous access site, vital signs, circulation, neurological status, etc. Manages radial arterial access sites by removing pressure devices as appropriate. Is knowledgeable of the different types of arterial closure devices used within this facility. Provides post-cardiac catheterization education to patient.
  • Prepares outpatients for interventional radiology procedures by educating the patient/family on procedure to be performed and moderate sedation (if applicable) and completing all required documentation/assessments. Provides post-procedural care through on-going assessment of patient status, vital signs, and incision/puncture site (if applicable). Provides post-procedural education relevant to the procedure performed.
  • Inserts IV and performs Blood Glucose check on all PET/CT patients prior to their PET/CT Scan
  • Places Holter Monitor on outpatients and scans in the results into the Holter Monitoring system for the cardiologist to read.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:


· Knowledgeable in adult learning principles

· Familiarity with the Nurse Visit Process


· Familiarity with Press Ganey and Value Based Purchasing

· Familiarity with ICARE & ACT



Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:


What you will need:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Registered Nursing
  • Requires a minimum of 1-year experience as an RN
  • Must have a current GA RN license
  • Must have current BLS
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Critical Care experience greatly preferred
