We are seeking a PRN (as needed) Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our surgical team in Baltimore. In this role, you will provide skilled nursing care in our state-of-the-art operating room, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert perioperative care.
- Function as both a scrub nurse and primarily as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures
- Prepare operating room for scheduled surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Maintain sterile field and assist surgical team during procedures
- Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures
- Coordinate with surgical team members to ensure efficient room turnover
- Document patient care using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Respond to emergency situations following established protocols
- Participate in surgical counts and specimen handling
- Assist in the orientation of new staff members
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols

- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience
- Current BLS certifications
- CNOR certification preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in both scrub and primarily in circulating roles
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Experience with electronic medical records systems (EPIC)
- Excellent sterile technique and infection control practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed (PRN basis)
