Head of Decor

The Head of Decor is responsible for completing the scope of decor based on the HQ design intent. Reporting to the Production Manager, they will lead a team to ensure all decor elements are installed, operated, maintained, and struck in adherence to schedule, budget, and creative intent. This is a dynamic and demanding role that requires a high level of leadership and adaptability.

  • Must be prepared to work each day of the Load-in, Run of Show, and Load-out, including the holiday season: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.


WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:


  • Lead the onsite decor team to execute all decor elements in line with the established creative intent and HQ Decor plan.

  • Monitor and report overall project status regarding schedules, budgets, scope, regular updates, and meetings; adjust as needed onsite to keep on time and on budget.


  • Work with all teams onsite to ensure all design aspects are maintained throughout the production run, including regular repairs and maintenance.

  • Communicate and collaborate on any onsite production changes to the Production Manager and corresponding departments.


  • Communicate and coordinate with onsite vendors as needed.

  • Assist with local purchasing needs for any adjustments onsite as needed.


  • Inventory onsite decor assets and maintain records of any damage.

  • Oversee the load out of all decor assets and ensure items are packed and inventoried per the plan and direction of the Production Manager.


  • Perform periodic assessments during run-of-show and report any issues to the HQ Decor team.

  • Be able to make last minute adjustments to execute programming required for Enchant theme nights, suite, and party sales prepared by our Sales and Marketing teams.


  • Document as-installed adjustments to the design and create documentation where none exists.

  • Ensure all suppliers and crew follow site safety regulations and protocols.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:


  • Experience in events & entertainment, theater & stage shows, art exhibit installations, and/or trade shows & conventions.

  • Experience in managing inventory.


  • Ability to generate reports, budgets, and schedules.

  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, and Slack.


  • Advanced knowledge of decor elements and design.

  • Strong communicator and leader.


  • Experience in leading a team and being able to delegate while being hands-on.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.



  • Self-driven.

  • Understanding of event installation methodologies: tools, equipment, materials, and processes.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Our venues span over 100,000 square feet.


  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for long durations.

  • Enchant is an outdoor event, and subject to local winter weather.
