Mojang Studios is seeking a Senior Business Manager for Brand, Growth, and Partnerships (BGP) to lead business strategy for Minecraft Education while supporting growth initiatives across Publishing/Partnerships, Endpoints, and Entertainment. In this role, your main focus will be to shape and execute strategies that empower educators and learners worldwide, however, you will collaborate with product, finance, and leadership to prepare QBRs, perform opportunity sizing, and execute forecasting and impact analysis across the whole BGP portfolio. This position is key to expanding Minecraft’s reach and impacting acquisition, engagement, and monetization while

Responsibilities
• Support for Senior Leadership: Act as a key business advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven
insights and strategic recommendations to inform high-level decisions. Facilitate smooth
communication and alignment between business and product goals. Provide regular business reporting
and present at monthly/quarterly business reviews, team meetings, and to internal and external
partners.
• Evangelist for Revenue-Driving Initiatives: Be the champion for new revenue opportunities by fostering
collaboration and constructive tension between business and product teams. Influence product
trategy and priorities to maximize business impact while maintaining the integrity of the Minecraft
brand.
• Identify & Propose New Business Product Opportunities: Proactively identify new business-related
product opportunities, grounded in market research and consumer behavior analysis. Collaborate with
product teams to craft proposals that expand Minecraft’s monetization potential while delivering value
to players.
• Business SME & Competitive Analysis: Serve as the business SME, staying informed on industry trends,
competitor strategies, and broader market shifts. Use this insight to inform strategic decisions, identify
risks, and capitalize on opportunities that keep Minecraft ahead of its competitors.
• Financial Forecasting & Impact Modeling: Lead the financial forecasting and impact assessment of new
business initiatives. Develop detailed financial forecasts, impact models, and ROI analyses that support
decision-making for key product stakeholders and leadership.
• Business Performance Tracking & Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of existing busine
initiatives. Use data to track KPIs, identify trends, and provide actionable insight
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- Proficient in analytical skills with experience in financial modeling. Experience in forecasting, scenario planning, and ROI analysis for business initiatives. Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or other relevant software.
- Proficiency in communication, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience collaborating across teams and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 5+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a startup or entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience education, technology, and/or gaming AND knowledge of the K-12 education system and curriculum development processes.
- Proficiency and high attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Business Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 – $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 – $219,200 per year.
