Senior Manager, Direct Sourcing Raw Materials

What You Will Learn:

As Senior Manager of Raw Materials Sourcing, you will have the opportunity to develop and execute the sourcing strategy of Raw Materials for the North America Zone. You will be responsible for leading the Hair Care métier for North America, including monitoring financial performance, ensuring operational excellence, executing sourcing strategies and supporting innovation and green transformation.

Financial Performance

• Accountable for purchasing financial performance including monthly variance reporting, and building purchasing trends/budgets
• Construct and lead cost reduction projects (negotiations, value analysis, etc.) with a focus on total landed cost and process improvement; utilize internal benchmarking

• Collect and translate business/factory needs into purchasing actions

Launch and Operational Performance

• Develop and communicate sourcing strategies to the key business stakeholders

• Act as key métier point of contact on new product launches with key stakeholders (WW Sourcing, Plants, R&I, Development)
• Collaborate on supplier performance, and continuous improvements in the supply base to manage risk and agility in the supply chain

• Crisis Resolution – identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure supply chain continuity
• Support manufacturing sites by optimizing supply chain parameters and total cost of ownership to meet service level goals.

• Influence supplier awards in line with global category strategies and zone needs

Innovation & Sustainability:

• Support the L’Oréal Group with its ambition to reach its 2030 Sustainability commitments through sustainable, green, and ethical sourcing. Deployment of green science solutions.
• Partner with R&I and Brands to drive raw material innovation
• Translate business needs to the category team to build strategies and achieve cost targets
• Collaborate with L’Oréal R&I on innovations to anticipate cost optimization and securitization to maximize business profitability

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or greater in related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in Sourcing/Purchasing; preferable in the consumer goods industry
• 3-4+ years of experience in Raw Materials
• High degree of financial and analytical aptitude
• Self-starter with curiosity, strong negotiation and influencing experience
• Excellent communication skills with ability to handle various situations, multiple priorities, changing business needs as well as the diverse culture within L’Oreal and the supplier community
• Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
