About the Role & Team
The Senior Photo Coordinator, ESPN Images works within ESPN Communications and works directly with our talented team of photographers and editors for assignments by scheduling photoshoots, hiring/assigning freelance and staff photographers, providing onsite support, distributing content and working with departments across ESPN to make sure photo needs are met.

Types of assignments range from corporate headshots, studio shooting, sporting events, portraiture, marketing campaigns, stock photography and high-conceptual shoots.


Success in this position will require excellent organizational skills, photographic knowledge and strong communication skills. The ability to work within deadline and provide exemplary customer service skills will ensure success. This position also requires being very detail oriented and the ability to succeed while multitasking. This position is designed to be a one-year project hire with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What Will You Do?


  • Work with photographers and team on creative brainstorming, location scouting, and logistics for shoots
  • Handling and coordinating all aspects of incoming photoshoot requests (Assigning photographers, ingesting images into photo library, securing credentials, etc.)
  • Onsite event support for large and/or priority events
  • Coming up with strategies for overall photo coverage and planning
  • Assist with various department initiatives and projects
  • Help manage the ESPN Images photo library by approving new account and photo requests, as well as archiving historical content
  • Communicate, support and consult with clients across ESPN for assignments and ensure that all photo needs are met
  • Serve as a liaison for ESPN Images with various departments across ESPN
  • Assist with management of team budget and processing of photography invoices
  • Assist with the management of the ESPN Images email inbox
  • Identifying and hiring new and talented freelance photographers for ESPN
  • Assisting with organization, editing and captioning of photoshoots and photo backlog
  • Quality control of images by ensuring the highest compositional and technical standards are achieved.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2 or more years of experience with handling and coordinating all aspects of incoming photoshoot requests and photo editing experience
  • Strong communication, organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities required.
  • Photoshop, Lightroom and Photomechanic, Smartsheets experience and advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines required.
  • Proven abilities in digital workflow, color-correction and IPTC meta data entry.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new technology as it becomes available.
  • Strong knowledge of post-production workflow, editing, metadata entry.
  • Demonstrate skills at organizing events from beginning to end
  • Willingness to travel
  • Aptness to multi-task under pressure, adhere to deadlines and work some weekends

  • Bachelor’s Degree

The hiring range for this position in New York is $55,800.00 – $74,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
