Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Senior Principal Platform Architect is to spearhead the design and development of our casino management platform from the ground up. The Senior Principal Platform Architect is a visionary leader who will establish the architectural framework, integrate security throughout the development lifecycle, and build a robust infrastructure that meets the unique needs of the gaming industry. The Senior Principal Platform Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a scalable, secure, and efficient platform that enhances operational performance and user experience.



All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive architectural vision for the casino management platform, aligning with business goals and industry regulations.
  • Establish a robust architectural framework that incorporates best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations and standards.
  • Design the overall architecture of the platform, including microservices, API gateways, identity and access management, and security components, to facilitate seamless interactions and high performance.
  • Implement and champion DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is integrated into CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes from the outset.
  • Design and implement API gateway solutions to manage and secure API traffic, enabling efficient communication between services and third-party integrations.
  • Oversee the design and management of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring it is secure, scalable, and cost-effective, with a focus on resilience and availability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to define and implement comprehensive security standards and compliance measures tailored to the casino management industry.
  • Continuously monitor platform performance, identifying bottlenecks and vulnerabilities, and proactively implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, security awareness, and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural decisions, security protocols, and operational guidelines. Conduct training sessions to ensure teams understand the architecture and security practices.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 10+ years of experience in platform architecture, DevSecOps, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal architectural role, preferably in the gaming or casino industry.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong proficiency in API management and gateway solutions (e.g., Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway).
  • Deep knowledge of identity and access management frameworks and tools (e.g., Okta, Auth0, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Bash) for automation and tool development.
  • Familiarity with security assessment tools and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, SAST, DAST) to ensure application and infrastructure security.
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to maintain system health and performance.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data security practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a focus on collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams in architectural best practices and security integration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Must be able to:

  • Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
