Michigan Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant to join our Human Resources team. This pivotal role focuses primarily (80%) on conducting executive-level searches for director-level roles and above. The successful candidate will possess strong recruitment experience, exceptional communication skills and an ability to provide world-class customer service to both candidates and internal stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence and steer Michigan Medicine’s strategic hiring efforts by ensuring the acquisition of top-tier leadership talent. The remaining 20% of the time will be dedicated to other recruitment-related projects as directed by the Director of Talent Acquisition. This role reports directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities*
Director-level and Above Search & Recruitment (80%):
- Lead and manage full-cycle recruitment processes for director-level roles and above, developing tailored search strategies that align with Michigan Medicine’s talent needs and organizational goals.
- Independently conduct high-level candidate searches utilizing advanced networking and sourcing techniques to identify and engage potential leadership candidates.
- Liaise with retained search firms, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure seamless coordination and communication between Michigan Medicine departments and external parties.
- Deliver “white glove” customer service, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Facilitate interviews, assessments, and selection processes, ensuring a fair and equitable experience for all candidates.
Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Provide expert advice and consultation to hiring leaders to identify role requirements, determine recruitment strategies, and ensure alignment with Michigan Medicine’s strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with department leaders and hiring managers, serving as a trusted advisor on all matters related to recruitment and talent management.
- Develop and deliver presentations and reports on search progress, candidate pipelines, and market insights to leadership teams.
Recruitment Projects & Initiatives (20%):
- Participate in and lead various recruitment-related projects at the discretion of the Director of Talent Acquisition to support the broader goals of the talent acquisition team.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies aimed at improving recruitment processes, enhancing candidate experiences, and achieving departmental objectives.
- Support workforce planning initiatives and contribute to diverse talent pipeline development efforts.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in executive recruiting and talent acquisition.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative recruitment strategies to enhance Michigan Medicine’s talent acquisition efforts.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of recruitment policies, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years focused on executive or senior-level recruitment.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex recruitment projects and partnering with senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and familiarity with Michigan Medicine’s operations and culture is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in using recruitment software, applicant tracking systems, and running data-driven recruitment processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform recruitment strategies.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
