Sergeant – NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital – Evening Shift including rotating Holidays/Weekends.

In this role, the Sergeant provides supervision of the security officers on a day-to-day basis. Apply to join a winning team where you will have an opportunity to engage in hands on experience coordinating the deployment of security personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will conduct building/property patrols, periodic inspections, and evaluate the work performance of officers. You will have a unique chance to show case your writing skills by completing neat and legible incident reports.

This is a full-time evening shift 3:00pm-11:00pm including rotating weekends/holidays, located at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree, military experience or 2 years of collegiate courses in criminal justice or related field.
• Supervisory experience.
• Driver’s License strongly preferred.
• NYCFD Certificate of fitness as Fire Safety Director.

Required Criteria:

• High School Diploma or GED
• NYS Security License.
• 3 years of experience.
• 8 & 16 Hour Security Course
• Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continue BCLS certification required every 2 years.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Fire Safety.
• Basic supervisory skills.
• Basic training skills.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
