Role Overview
As a Snowflake Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Snowflake data platform. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Snowflake data platform, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing performance.
- Implement and enforce best practices for data security, governance, and compliance within Snowflake.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and efficient use of the platform.
- Monitor system health and performance metrics, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them promptly.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams to support data integration, ETL pipelines, and analytics workloads.
- Oversee Snowflake storage and compute costs, optimizing for cost-efficiency without compromising performance.
- Automate routine administrative tasks and contribute to process improvements.
- Stay updated on Snowflake features and updates, proactively implementing enhancements to improve platform capabilities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator or similar role managing cloud-based data platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Snowflake architecture, features, and administration.
- Strong understanding of SQL, database optimization, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools like Apache Airflow, Matillion, or Informatica.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with Snowflake.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Certifications: Snowflake-related certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core) are a plus.
