Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the well-being of all children enrolled in Childcare, ages 8 weeks to 3 years old
  • Create and implement engaging age-appropriate activities including art, storytime, games, and outdoor play
  • Responsible for the personal needs of the children including feeding, sleeping, and diapering
  • Interact with all children and families with a friendly and open demeanor
  • Create a warm, friendly, and cooperative environment in which children and families feel comfortable and secure
  • Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and disinfecting of all childcare areas
  • Assist with other areas of Snowsports School operations as needed
  • Initiates contact and greets guests in a friendly, helpful, and respectful manner
  • Maintain open contact with parents regarding child’s well-being and provide detailed reports to parents at the end of the day
  • Listens to guests’ needs and concerns. Then relay the message to management
  • Must be able to clearly communicate information to guests and co-workers
  • Follow all operating procedures and company policies
  • Recognizes that service is our product and helping guests have a great Taos experience is our primary job
  • Serves as a public relations representative for Taos, both on and off the job
  • Look for ways to better serve the guests, Snowsports, and Taos Ski Valley
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:


  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience working with young children and families
  • Willing and able to complete CPR training (training available through the company)
  • Available to work during Christmas, President’s Weekend, and Spring Break peak periods
  • At times may be solely responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in the Rio Hondo Learning Center
  • Complies with Tao’s employee handbook and Snowsports procedures and policies
  • Is responsible for information; emails, newsletters, informational websites, bulletin boards, memos, and required meetings
  • Participates as part of the team
  • Cooperates with all area employees and co-workers in the performance of duties
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays (Including Christmas), and evenings.

Work Environment:

  • This position is 90% indoors working with children 8wks – 3 years old
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and duties at all times

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment.? Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:


  • Must be capable of lifting and holding children of all sizes, up to 40 pounds, throughout the course of the day
  • Must be able to bend and move from standing to squat and kneel positions several times throughout the day
  • Must be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs several times per shift; must be agile, sure-footed, and cautious on slippery surfaces
  • Must be prepared to accompany children outside in changing and potentially extreme weather conditions
  • Maintains personal safety as a top priority
