Job Summary

This role will lead the software engineering division of the laboratory.



Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The primary responsibility is development and support of our NSF-funded open-source software for scaling cognitive science, Pushkin.
  • This includes CI/CD software development, writing documentation, conducting trainings, and liaising with collaborators.
  • The role may grow to include other internal and public-facing research software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in linguistics, communication sciences & disorders, psychology, or a related field
  • At least a year of experience with open-source software design.
  • Prior experience conducting and publishing psycholinguistic research is a plus.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED


  • Ability to use JavaScript and JavaScript development tools.
  • Ability to write new experiments from scratch using jsPsych .
  • Familiarity with the Pushkin development platform.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • May supervise an intern/co-op student worker.
