As an engineer you will have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple virtualization technologies as well as virtualizing Apple operating systems and Apple products, collaborating closely with experts throughout Software Engineering and Hardware Technologies organizations.

Description

We work on virtualization technologies including implementing new virtual machines, adding virtual device capabilities, bringing up the whole Apple operating systems in a virtual machine, exposing new features to users through the Virtualization framework, working and improving on the core framework as well as focusing on reliability and performance of products.

1. Comfortable with C and C++ programming skills
2. Experience with Objective-C and/or Swift
3. Strong understanding of Operating Systems internals
4. Experience with kernel and/or system framework and/or device driver development
5. Previous experience with virtualization (Intel or ARM)
6. Strong desire to deliver proven work on schedule
7. Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

1. BS or higher degree, Computer Science/Computer Engineering

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
