Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a visionary Sr Manager, Art Program to lead and shape the future of art at sea. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the artistic landscape of our ships, blending creativity, innovation, and strategic execution to enhance guest experiences through world-class art installations.

As the Sr Manager, Art Program, you will be the primary leader and expert responsible for curating, developing, and implementing the Newbuild Art Program-overseeing projects from concept to completion. Working closely with Architectural Design leadership within our Newbuild & Innovation Department, you will ensure that art installations across newbuild, revitalization, and refurbishment projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and innovation across all cruise brands.



We seek a dynamic leader with proven experience in art program and collections management, curation, or large-scale art installations, ideally within the hospitality, luxury, or maritime industries. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a deep appreciation for art and design, and the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide innovative Newbuild art direction and development; bringing fresh direction and insight while maintaining visual integrity, ethos of the brand and corporate standards
  • Independently plan, direct, and oversee the entire Newbuild art process for assigned projects, including curation, disposition planning, investment, and collections management.
  • Ensure Newbuild Art is seamlessly integrated into architectural and interior designs, aligning with project schedules, budgets, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Engage with senior leadership in developing long-range planning and objectives for the NB Art Program.
  • Uphold SQM and quality management guidelines throughout all design phases, proactively improving methods and processes for better execution.
  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team across multiple project phases, ensuring timely, highest-quality delivery within budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to explore Newbuild Art value engineering opportunities, identifying innovative solutions to optimize costs while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Manage internal stakeholder and consultant relationships, effectively communicating challenges and proactively finding optimal solutions.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate performance, identify lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future projects.
  • Provide timely and accurate progress and financial reporting and analysis to company executives, brand representatives, and project teams to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Implement robust cost control measures to monitor expenses, track project costs against budgets, and forecast future expenditures.
  • As primary liasion, drive and oversee collaboration with various stakeholders, both internal and external, i.e., logistics, marketing/PR, supply chain, art consultants, lighting coordinators, shipyard, site offices and brand to provide guidance on project priorities through multiple phases
  • Monitor the quality and suitability of consultants, ensuring that goals are met, and provide guidance to ensure design is completed to vision.
  • Manage and develop team resources (people, processes, tools) to support large-scale projects, guiding external architectural, interior design, and consultancy firms.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, coordinate and adjusts work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
  • Drive and oversee collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, including logistics, marketing/PR, supply chain, art consultants, lighting coordinators, shipyards, site office and brand teams.
  • Lead and organize the development of Art presentations for senior executives, ensuring clarity and impact in project reports.
  • Effectively communicate difficult or sensitive information, providing proactive solutions to challenges.
  • Stay ahead of market research to identify trends, disruptions, and emerging opportunities in the art and design space.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of consultants, ensuring alignment with project goals and providing guidance to maintain design vision.
  • Uphold quality management practices throughout all project phases.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Management of multi-million-dollar projects-up to $10 mil for revitalizations and up to $500 mill. for newbuilds.
  • Develops Newbuild Art Program budgets including modifications and manages to delivery.
  • Develops Consultant fee budgets and manages to delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years Art/Design industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years managing people and multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Art/Interior Design required, Architecture degree preferred.
  • Cruise ship newbuild or revitalization project management experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • This role requires strong organizational, communication, and curatorial skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be strong communicator.
  • Exhibits advanced capabilities in written, oral, and graphic media.
  • Represents department and self in a competent professional manner.
  • Seeks guidance appropriately, independent with minimal guidance.

  • Sponsors, consultants, and yards.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel internationally or domestically at least 25% of the time.
