What We’re Doing:
We are seeking a Chief Engineer for engineering leadership of our Global Command and Control (GC2) sub-market within C4ISR. This role serves as the primary technical authority / technical interface with internal program management and external customers. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the technical content and technical delivery excellence across the portfolio of GC2 programs and captures. This position partners with the program management organization and Integrated Engineering leadership to lead engineering program performance including attainment of cost, schedule, technical, quality and business objectives on the GC2 programs and captures. This role involves oversight of LM personnel, subcontractors, and independent industry partners engaged in delivering critical programs for the success of our customers.
The Work:
• Leading the GC2 Technical team to ensure successful system development and execution
• Partner with Program and Integrated Engineering to manage staffing at center level with a focus on balancing staffing demand, supply, affordability, and critical skills.
• Champion mission success and drive a mission success culture into exploration of new problem solution areas with novel concepts and approaches
• Ensure selected designs are robust and include appropriate margins to facilitate safety, performance, producibility and operational availability/supportability and that program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices.
• Be accountable for key decision making that impact businesses, the failure to achieve the objectives result in critical impact of program capabilities.
• Review and approve technical proposal inputs to ensure sound technical solutions and schedules and drive affordability.
• Own, execute, and status GC2 program initiatives.
• Partner with the E&T organization to drive Digital Transformation into engineering processes, products, and services.
• Partner with the Program Management Office (PMO) and Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) organizations on product strategies to drive business growth.

Basic Qualifications:
• Domestic and international engineering capture experience
• Technical development management experience on cost plus and fixed price contracts
• Technical negotiation experience
• Strong contract and subcontract performance experience
• Broad background in all engineering lifecycle phases.
• Strong experience in systems architecture, analysis, design, software engineering, integration, test, and trade studies.
• Experience in Devsecops engineering practices including: Agile, continuous integration/continuous delivery, configuration management, automated testing, and SW build/release.
• Experience in adopting and implementing key engineering practices including enabling tool and training updates.
• Strong risk management experience and expertise, including identification, mitigation and abatement planning, execution, and tracking.
• Solid cost account management (CAM) and earned value management experience (EVM).
• Demonstrated interpersonal, team-building skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Strong customer focus with a proven record of outstanding customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrated experience in driving data informed change in support of improving affordability and quality.
• Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%.
•Must possess a current/active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Domain experience in BMC2 capabilities and products
• Experience with engineering considerations for export control
• Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and enhance skills.
• Strong oral and written communications skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $159,600 – $305,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
