Position Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist III will oversee and coordinate the strategic and operational aspects of the Inbound supply chain, including loading and dispatching carriers. This role involves developing and implementing strategies, ensuring compliance, and addressing complex issues related to documentation, scheduling, and OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged). The role also acts as a backup for White Glove and Canadian transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Schedule delivery and pickup appointments and handle all associated paperwork.
  • Collaborate with 3PLs to run daily operations.
  • Analyze and onboard additional vendors into the cross-dock consolidation operation to expand network efficiency.
  • Track and report inbound shipments using an access database tool, capturing shipment history and costs, and calculating net savings.
  • Analyze the current cross-dock footprint to ensure accurate location selection and identify the need for additional cross-dock locations.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with routing guides and supervise carrier and mode selection.
  • Identify and implement cost, quality, and service improvements.
  • Optimize multi-stop deliveries and broker spot quotes with carriers.
  • Provide support for customer or partner concerns and assist with “white glove” carrier performance to ensure premium delivery service.
  • Handle Canadian transportation activities on a backup basis when team members are on PTO.
  • Determine proper transportation modes based on product uniqueness and climate conditions.
  • Manage and supervise lead times and transit times to ensure supply chain standards are met.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving sophisticated issues and addressing concerns from customers, vendors, and DCs regarding product flow.
  • Initiate corrective actions and ensure resolutions using the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) process.
  • Assist in department projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Strong initiative, collaborative/team instinct, and can-do attitude.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Perform data analysis to identify efficient shipping methods and supervise cost and service performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on transportation metrics and performance improvements.
  • Establish and manage relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
  • Facilitate training for new team members on transportation processes and systems.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or logistics.


Proficiency in data analysis tools (Access, Excel, PowerBI).

Strong ability to think critically and solve complex problems.


Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Consistent record of driving process improvements.
