This role aims to implement strategic financial strategies aligned with business objectives to deliver key priorities for all stakeholders. This position guides strategic decision-making and financial planning to drive the hotel’s success and profitability. This task force position requires up to 50-75% travel, with assignments ranging from one week to several months.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and mentor the local team through their day-to-day activities.
- Partner with the General Manager and other department leaders to drive strong financial performance and maintain internal controls at the hotel.
- Participate actively in necessary meetings, including owners’ meetings and budget/forecasting sessions.
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled each month.
- Effectively manage Cash, AP, AR, Purchasing, and GL functions.
- Focus on labor management and lead weekly labor meetings.
- Re-forecast monthly revenues and expenses.
- Update cash flow forecasts monthly.
- Participate in Executive Committee meetings and monthly owner calls to review financial results.
- Support internal, external, and government audit requests.

Qualifications
Experience:
- 2-3 years as Assistant Director of Finance in a midsize property OR 1+ years as Director of Finance in a smaller property (at a major brand hotel)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a regard for detail and accuracy
- Technical proficiency in Oracle and Hyperion
- Adaptable to the time zone of the property; special considerations for Hawaii on a case-by-case basis
Education:
- Batchelor’s Degree OR associate’s degree with appropriate experience
