The successful candidate will be committed to safety, good housekeeping, and a willingness to learn.

Summary of Responsibility: Ongoing movement of depresses pedals to rotate drums, and winds specified numbers of plies around drums to form tire bodiesStarts rollers that bond tread and piles as drums revolveActivates bead setters that press prefabricated beads onto pliesCuts plies at splice points, and press ends together to form continuous bandsAligns treads with guides, starts drums to wind treads onto plies, and slice endsPosition tires (up to 50 lbs) on rack Positions ply stitcher rollers and drums according to width of stock, using hand tools and gaugesPulls plies from supply racks, and aligns plies with edges of drumsMaintain housekeeping the Tire Building AreaEager to be a Team Player and open to be assigned other duties, as neededSkills and Abilities:The employee should hold the following abilities:Work at an effective and productive pace while operating heavy equipmentBe a safety advocate for self and other team membersApply common sense to carrying out instructions and procedures Use problem-solving skills to deal with issues in process as they ariseEducation and/or Experience:The employee should have the following:High school diploma or general education degree (GED);Applicants seeking GED: Enroll in our program to help you get a GED while workingManufacturing experience preferred but not required, candidate will be trained for this position in-houseBasic math skills a must: measurements (tape measure, gauge, protractor), division, adding, subtracting, etc. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTTo perform the essential functions of this job, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functionsThe employee should possess the ability to:Work safely around continuous moving mechanical partsWork in a hot environment while meeting production ratesBe exposed to a noisy environment and comfortable with PPE requirementsMaintain regular attendance and punctuality for 8-12 hour shiftsBe comfortable standing, stooping, leaning, and working around rotating equipment Be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
