Reporting to the Procurement Director, the purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the Global Procurement Strategy, planning and directing all procurement activities in the USA region, whilst delivering against targets for financial performance, quality, service, and compliance adherence.

Our key sourcing categories are Air freight, CEP (Courier, Express and Parcel), 4PL/Custom Brokerage and Packaging. Our spend is highly complex in nature and requires close collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute.



Facilitating the development, implementation and maintenance of cross category processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and Business Operating Principles, you will procure best in class services and suppliers for Biocair whilst not compromising on customer service.

Instrumental in working across multiple business units (including Operations, Finance and HR), the US Procurement Manager will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to identify business needs, building relationships whilst embedding and advocating the principles of procurement interventions.


Responsibilities will include:

  – Sourcing:


  • Understanding operational considerations, identifying business / category demand requirements and partnering with regional Procurement Specialist’s to deliver annual value improvements and drive competitive advantage. 
  • Ensuring execution of category strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders for reducing total costs of externally purchased supplies and services and improving levels of quality, service, and value to Biocair.


 – Category Strategy:

  • Developing and driving the vision, strategy, and implementation plan in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across the portfolio to deliver maximum value for Biocair. 
  • Maintaining market intelligence for a specific category or categories to provide outside-in insights to drive value creation for Biocair as well as enable tracking of category / market dynamics.


 – Business Engagement:


  • Managing the needs and expectations of the Business to drive satisfaction while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies. 
  • Driving supply reliability improvement.


 – Procurement Strategy and Enablement:

  • Maintaining the strategic direction for the Procurement function in the USA region, ensuring alignment to strategic goals and standards and effectively using the enabling tools and technology required across the function.
  • Overseeing the USA Procurement team and facilitating the development, implementation and maintenance of cross category processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and Business Operating.


 – Contracting: 


  • Systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, approval, administration, and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.


 – Other:

  • Managing the US supplier database, ensuring it is consistent, accurate and up to date.
  • Managing the US supplier tariffs and subsequent validation of key supplier invoices and provision of credit notes in the event of erroneous submissions.
  • Managing the RFQ/RFP process and documentation for supplier contracts where applicable.
  • Managing price and contract negotiations including SLA’s, NDA’s and ABAC requirements, to ensure all goods and services are procured in the most cost-effective way at the most advantageous terms to Biocair and adhere to our global compliance requirements.
  • Identifying cost reduction opportunities and implementing strategies/action plans to realise cost savings.
  • Tracking purchasing activity and measurements to ensure we remain within our budgeted spend targets.
  • Liaising with Accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely payment of supplier invoices.
  • Managing the activities and workload of a USA Procurement team and be responsible for the performance management and personal development of all team members.
  • Representing the Procurement Organization as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Biocair Organization as required.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:

  • Proven previous procurement experience at management level, across a variety of functional specialties including general management, logistics, marketing, supply chain and/or a technical field.
  • A broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management).
  • Ability to influence and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., Businesses, Procurement IT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory).
  • Previous experience working within a highly complex and global environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully leading, managing and developing a team.
  • CPSM/CPM/CIPS (or equivalent) qualification is highly desirable.
  • Spanish language skills are desirable but not essential.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30 with the role being offered as field based from any of our US offices and a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. The role may require up to 10 to 15% domestic and international travel.
